Profile:Assoc. Prof. Mahdi Bodaghi is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Smart Materials and Manufacturing, Faculty of Science and Technology, Nottingham Trent University. He received his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and PhD in Applied Design in 2007, 2010, and 2015, respectively. From July 2015 to July 2018, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Smart Materials and Structures, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He collaborated with Professor LIAO Wei-Hsin to develop advanced, multifunctional shape memory structures for mechanical, aerospace, and biomedical applications using 3D and 4D printing technologies. Since October 2018, Assoc. Prof. Mahdi Bodaghi has been working at the Department of Engineering, Nottingham Trent University (NTU). He received his Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from NTU in November 2020. Assoc. Prof. Mahdi Bodaghi was named one of the world's most influential researchers (top 2%) by Elsevier and Stanford University for 2020-2024, ranked among the top 1% of cross-disciplinary reviewers by Web of Science (WoS), and recognized as a global talent by the Royal Academy of Engineering. Assoc. Prof. Mahdi Bodaghi has served as chair and member of the scientific committees of 16 international conferences, guest editor of 8 journals, editorial board member of 12 scientific journals including the International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, Macromolecular Materials and Engineering, Smart Materials and Structures, and reviewer for over 150 journals. His research focuses on smart materials, biocomposite materials, metamaterials, robotic materials, biomimetic design, constitutive models, and 3D and 4D printing (additive manufacturing) technologies (H-index: 70, citations: 14,847).
